How Yeti or Not Started
Sean, Brandon, and Derek met at Concordia University Texas — roommates first, collaborators almost immediately after.
Brandon and Sean started writing together: sketch comedy, screenplays, songs, kids' books — basically anything that would make each other laugh (or cry).
Meanwhile, Sean and Derek were making music. Thirteen years of scripts, shows, and songs followed, none of them knowing it was all training for the same project.
Then, in 2023, just days after Sean's first son was born, Brandon pitched him on the idea of a Bigfoot musical. Sean, equal parts sleep-deprived and skeptical, passed.
A week later, Sean came back with a title, a demo, and the kind of conviction only a new dad running on four hours of sleep could muster.
The two roped Derek in — by now a bona fide composer — and thirteen years of friendship turned into one wild creative sprint, fueled by way too many video calls, round-trip flights between Austin and Nashville, and a medically inadvisable amount of coffee.
That's how Yeti or Not was born — a musical that's fun, hopeful, and maybe even just a little legendary.

Brandon Marks
Brandon Marks is a Nashville-based theatre-maker with an MA in Theatre. Over a decade in Texas, he built theatre programs as director and technical director, earned a Greater Austin High School Musical Theatre Awards nomination for Best Direction, and ran a performing arts center hosting 25+ events a year. He guest-taught and technical-directed at the University of Texas at Austin, co-created a technical theatre curriculum used in 100+ schools worldwide, and scripted YouTube videos topping 3.8 million views. Off stage, Brandon leads a national sales team — a rare creative fluent in show business and the business of shows. A dad of four, he believes some things are worth chasing.
Sean Richards
Sean Richards is a singer-songwriter based in Austin, TX.
Derek Hughes
Derek Hughes is a freelance composer and songwriter based in Nashville, specializing in high-impact music for film, TV, and commercial media. A graduate of Concordia University Texas, Derek has built a diverse sonic portfolio that spans genres and mediums. His major credits include composing the original score for the feature film ‘From My Eyes’, writing for major electronic labels like Revealed Recordings, and providing sync music for publishing companies like Reel Music Werks. Combining a deep understanding of music theory with sharp commercial instincts, Derek creates compelling, independent soundscapes designed to elevate visual media.
